Community College Opens Doors
When Congress realized the shortage in America's technology workforce, legislation was enacted to establish Advanced Technological Education (ATE) programs in community colleges. The traditional open door to our colleges opened even wider, welcoming new students seeking world-class skills in science, mathematics, engineering, and technology. Students can study everything from agriculture to marine exploration, biotechnology to environmental management, engineering to nanotechnology, and more. George R. Boggs, President American Association of Community Colleges |
