Process Technician

As a process technician, you will maintain process technology equipment such as safety systems of drivers, compressors, pumps, and other operational equipment used in process technology. You may also install new equipment, monitor operations, and trouble-shoot any equipment problems.

You might work in a plant or an off-shore setting. You'll work with automation specialists, technicians, and maintenance specialists to ensure maximum production and environmental compliance.

Tasks may include:
  • Providing repair and replacement of electrical and/or pneumatic instrumentation and control systems
  • Installing new equipment
  • Monitoring operations process
  • Assisting/managing compliance with environmental and safety regulations

Degree Requirements:
Two-year degree in instrumentation, process technology, or related field

Skills Required:
  • Understanding of safety and environmental requirements
  • Good leadership and communication skills
  • Knowledge of operations equipment such as gas engine turbines, reciprocating engines, centrifugal pumps, and general platform maintenance needs
