As a process technology operator, you'll be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the production processes in an off-shore or plant production facility. You'll monitor equipment and operation systems, and you may also assist in installing and repairing equipment (such as pumps, compressors, electric motors) involved in production processes.
You may work alone or as part of a team to ensure safe, efficient production and operations in your facility. If you are working at an off-shore facility, some travel and long shifts will be required.
Tasks may include:
- Monitoring production and recording data from gauges and indicators
- Maintaining, repairing, and installing equipment
- Operating heavy equipment or working near a hot surface
- Maintaining accurate records of daily operations
- Identifying and minimizing environmental hazards
Degree Requirements:
Two-year degree in process technology or related field
Skills Required:
- Knowledge of equipment
- Understanding of mechanics and electronics
- Ability to operate and record production processes
