Chemical Plant Technician

As a chemical plant technician, you'll analyze chemicals to determine their purity for a variety of products and industries. For example, you might be responsible for analyzing water purity, or ensuring the proper balance of chemicals for that make up household, environmental, or industrial products. You'll analyze raw materials and finished products for quality control, and assist in routine sample preparation and analyses.

You'll work in a lab setting, independently or as part of a team, working closely with chemical engineers to support testing activities.

Tasks may include:
  • Preparing solutions and instruments for testing
  • Analyzing and measuring raw materials
  • Monitoring and verifying quaility of chemicals
  • Ensuring compliance with safety regulations

Degree Requirements:
Two-year degree in chemical process technology or related field.

Skills Required:
  • Solid understanding of chemistry
  • Attention to detail
  • Knowledge of chemical processing
  • Experience in lab settings
